My visit was yet another reminder of why this place has firmly become one of my favorite haunts. From the outside, it presents a clean, inviting, and modern facade that promises good things. Stepping inside, you are immediately met with that signature, comforting aroma of freshly ground coffee—a scent that instantly soothes the soul. The environment is the first win; it is impeccably clean, well-lit, and thoughtfully organized. Despite being an "Express" branch, the seating is cleverly arranged to offer both intimate corners for solitary reflection and cheerful spots for lively chats with friends. The air conditioning provides a cool refuge from the coastal heat, making it a perfect sanctuary. What truly stands out is the seamless efficiency. The "Express" in its name is not just for show. The service is remarkably swift and friendly. The staff at the counter are always warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable, ready with a smile and a helpful suggestion. My order—a classic Java House Cappuccino and a Chicken & Pesto Sandwich—was prepared with impressive speed without ever feeling rushed. The barista's skill was evident in the rich, perfectly balanced coffee, crowned with a velvety foam, while the kitchen delivered a sandwich that was fresh, flavorful, and artfully presented. Their Cappuccino coffee and iced coffee was really nice I loved it

Very convenient location. There should certainly be more of these around. I usually pop in to grab a drink to-go or, if I have a minute, enjoy their samosa (chicken/beef). Both are great. If you want a place to work, this probably isn’t it. I’d recommend the shakes n’ cakes nearby. Their opening hours are also pretty good for Mombasa. Hopefully they can work towards 24-hour operation in the future.

Great, though the outlet has been closed you can dine in the Next Java house outlet just 2 minutes walk from the old site

Great place fot coffee and cake which is why I usually visit. But last night we had a meal. The food was excellent, the service good (and quick), so no complaints. Java is situated in a petrol station at the side of the main road, so not the most scenic of places, but very handy to call in when passing. And the food was definitely GOOD.
